Should I get Call of Duty 4 or Battlefield 1943?

I was going to get MW1 since MW2 was ok compared to WaW and Black Ops, but quite a few people are saying I should get Battlefield 1943 because "...You can drive tanks and jeeps and planes..." And that there are more people in a match(24-BF1943, 12-cod) What should I get? I already know that there are modders in MW1.Should I get Call of Duty 4 or Battlefield 1943?
In my opinion, you should get Call of Duty 4. Why? Call of Duty 4 is still favored amongst plenty of players and still has a handful of players. Battlefield 1943 sure does give you the chance to drive these vehicles, but you'll be playing with the same players every time! I don't know about you, but Call of Duty 4 and Battlefield 1943 have the same graphics, all i go for, is the player count because i don't like to play with the same people, it makes the community less orientated.Should I get Call of Duty 4 or Battlefield 1943?
COD 4 is my favorite cod to this day.
